1. Clean Dirt From Under Your Nail
The first step is to quickly clean the tip of your nails to remove all the dirt buildup there. Have proper lighting while cleaning your nails, or else you won’t be able to see them.
It is better if you keep your hands as dry as possible for this cleaning as it is easier to clean that way. You can use baby wipes or a manicure brush to clean the nails.
2. Wash Your Hands
Now that you have cleaned your nails initially, it’s time to wash your hands and nails properly, using soap and lukewarm water. You won’t have to focus on your nails, but wash your hands in general.
While washing your hands, try to use milder soaps, as harder soaps make the nails brittle. The same goes for hand sanitizers that are alcohol-based. If you want, then you can also buy soaps specifically designed for your fingernails to wash your nails.
3. Soak Your Nails In A Bowl Of Warm, Soapy Water
Now take a small finger bowl and pour lukewarm soapy water into it and soak your fingers for about 3-4 minutes. The warm water softens the nails and preps them for the cleaning process.
The nails are softened because, throughout the nail, the cleaning process can accidentally break or chip off hard nails. So it is important that you soak your nails and soften them.

4. Use A Nail Brush To Scrub The Tops
After the soaking is all done, it’s time to scrub the nails to clear all the residue from the top of your nails. This step is done when your nails are still wet.
Suppose you don’t have a specific brush for this, then you can use a toothbrush for the scrubbing. And after everything is done, pat your fingers and nails try.
5. Remove Nail Polish, If Needed
Now if you are wearing nail polish, you may or may not remove your nail polish. If you wanna remove then use a strong polish to clean your nails. Use cotton wipes or balls to remove the nail polish from your nails.
6. Wash Your Hands Again
Once again, after cleaning your nail polish, you must wash your hands quickly and pat them dry. Now if you have a good hand cream, use that hand cream to moisturize your hands and rest them for a while as well before the following routines.
7. Apply Baking Soda
It is now time to prepare a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, the measurements being “2 ½ tablespoons of baking soda per tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide.” Make the mixture into a paste, so don’t make it all runny and watery.
Then spread the paste all over and under your nails and leave it there for a minute or two, then rinse your nails and pat them dry. If you apply this paste on a weekly basis, then you will see that your nails are gonna stay luminescent and white all the time.
8. Moisturize Your Nails Every Week
Now after your nails are all dry, to avoid any cracks or breakage, you need to moisturize your nails on a regular basis. I would recommend using moisturizers that contain aloe vera, butter, or cocoa infused.
Or you can also apply oils like tea tree, coconut, or olive to moisturize your nails. By doing this, your nails will stay soft and pliable.
9. Try Apple Cider Vinegar
If you wanna keep your nails clean from any fungal infection and bacteria, then the best thing that you can try is apple cider vinegar.
It works great to keep your nails absolutely healthy and clean at the same time. Well, the solution of apple cider vinegar is to be diluted with clean water and keep your nails soaked in there for about 20 minutes.
10. Give Yourself Periodic Vacation From Polish
If you keep on wearing nail polish for longer periods, then it might weaken your nails and leave a permanent stain on your nails, especially with darker colors.
So clean your nails periodically and give them a break from all the chemicals, this way, they will get a chance to heal as well.
If you think all these steps are easy for you to handle by yourself, then you should give all these steps a try for yourself, and know how to clean under nails. By doing this on a weekly basis, you can keep your nails healthy and clean, so it seems worth a shot. So if you liked this article, then give this article a like and comment down below.
